SES KEPT BUSY DURING FLASH FLOODING

Coffs Harbour streets are now free from water after flash flooding put much of the region under water just lunchtime yesterday.

Homes and businesses were hit with more than 115 millimetres of water in the space of 3 hours.

SES crews responded to a number of call outs last night, with most caused by people attempting to drive through flood water.

“There was a lot of people around, a lot of people still driving through flood waters, and we were tasked to five flood rescues and one road rescue, so a fair bit of work.” Bill Roffey, Coffs Harbour SES.
