TAREE’S VIBRANT SPACES TRIAL COMES TO AN END

A six-month trial in Taree, which has allowed shop owners to put tables, chairs and products on the footpath without council approval, is now under review.
The Vibrant Spaces trial represented a massive shift in council policy, when it allowed businesses to use the footpath without paying extra fees or having to get approval.
It was designed to improve the feel of the CBD and boost business.
Council is now asking for feedback as it considers whether to continue the policy and roll it out to other areas.
