There was also some good news today for those evacuated from Raymond Terrace, with all residents allowed to return home.
The SES lifted its evacuation order this morning, after river levels receded overnight.
However, there are still several road closures in place.
“In particular the Fitzgerald Bridge to Irrawang bridge across Nelsons Plains that’s still under water today,” said Amanda Hyde from SES Hunter Region.
The SES received close to 1,000 calls for help across the Hunter, with the majority of those jobs now complete.
