GUNNEDAH OFF AND RACING

Gunnedah Greyhound Club is seeing the benefits of the move to a sand-based track with a full 12 race card booked in for tomorrow night.

The meet was originally scheduled to have 10 races, but the nomination of 170 dogs saw the addition of two more.

Despite the increased size of the race day, some runners had to be turned away.

With better quality greyhounds now racing in Gunnedah, the club is in a strong position to get the track TAB-approved, which club officials believe will bring more money to the sport in the region.
