HAUSSLER WINS AUSTRALIAN TITLE

Inverell is home to an Australian cycling champion, after Heinrich Haussler won the road race at the National Championships in Victoria.
The 30-year-old edged out Caleb Ewan in a sprint finish, despite his chain falling off on the final stretch.
Alongside a Stage victory in the 2009 Tour De France, the win is the highlight of his career.
While in another strong result for the north west, Tamworth’s Sam Spokes finished fifth in the same race, after joining a nine-man breakaway with 40 kilometres to go.
