JOEYS CRUISE TO VICTORY IN TAMWORTH

In round 11 of the Northern Inland Premier League, Joeys FC made a searing start, going to the break up 4-nil.

They continued to press forward in the second half, with Oxley Vale-Attunga missing key midfielders, Chris Fenton and Lachlan Browne.

The Mushies just couldn’t counter, and Joeys coach Steve Gadd kept a clean sheet in his first appearance as goalkeeper since he was 16.

His team leaving Tamworth with a four-nil win.

“Basically we played about 30 minutes today of doing the touches that we need to do, the movement that we need to do and that sort’ve thing. We need to chase that, and we’ve been chasing that, elusive 90 minute effort.”

In other matches, Guyra downed Moree, the Hawks were grounded at home and Namoi played out a draw with the Scorpions.

While East Armidale and Tamworth FC shared the points with less-fancied opponents.
