A Hunter club will win this season’s SCG Country Cricket Cup after Merewether and Hamilton-Wickham both qualified for the final.
Hamwicks beat Coffs Harbour by seven wickets, while the Lions survived a major scare against Dubbo.
Chasing 201 for victory, Hamwicks had plenty of solid contributions.
Josh Trappel scored 53 and Mark Dries finished on 50 not out.
Merewether meanwhile amassed a total of 219, and in reply Dubbo looked in trouble at 6 for 68.
Despite a massive eighth wicket stand, the Central West side fell 12 runs short of victory.
