The Australian Rail Track Corporation has opened a major new coal rail infrastructure project this morning at Hexham.
Work began in October last year, with the $163-million project providing much needed congestion relief to the high volume of coal rail traffic running up and down the Hunter.
The massive project, which created 140 full-time jobs, will also ensure deadlines at the port are met more frequently.
