Richmond Valley Council has agreed to reinstate a promotional banner for Evans Head, which features local surfer and model, Kirrah Cooke.
Originally hung in the main street, the banner was taken down after a local resident complained it was sexist, and not family-orientated.
But its removal sparked community outrage – and a petition of more than 400 signatures was yesterday handed to council, calling on the banner to be returned.
Council says it’ll be replaced in the next two weeks.
