An endangered loggerhead turtle and two hammerhead sharks are the latest casualties in the north coast shark net trial.
The DPI has released its third by-catch report, which revealed not one of the 16 dead marine animals found in the nets was a target species.
Almost half of the 34 marine animals caught in the third month of the trial were found dead.
The six-month trial continues.
