Back in June, the Manning Valley endured one of its worst floods on record, with extensive damage caused to homes, public infrastructure and local farms.
Two months down the track, the local council is organising a huge barbecue to thank to the many hundreds of people who helped out during the emergency and the recovery period that followed.
The barbecue will be held at the Taree-Wingham race Club on Tuesday week.
