Independent Northern Tablelands MP Richard Torbay has become the only person to nominate for Nationals pre-selection to contest the Federal seat of New England.
Mr Torbay is seeking the party’s endorsement to contest the next Federal election.
He will run against the current Independent Member for the New England, Tony Windsor.
Mr Torbay will address a pre-selection meeting in Tamworth on August 18.
If successful, he will continue as the Northern Tablelands MP until a Federal election is announced.
