The Newcastle Art Gallery has announced the winner of this year’s Kilgour Prize, with Gosford artist, Alan Jones, taking out the $50,000 award.
His oil on acrylic portrait called Robert Forrester was highly commended among a field of 140 entries from around the country.
Other finalists included comedian Anh Do.
