A man is lucky to be alive after his car and caravan crashed and burst into flames on the New England Highway, just north of Moonbi.
Emergency services arrived on scene at around 12 o’clock this afternoon – where the driver – a man in his 30’s, was trapped.
He managed to escape with minor injuries.
The crash also ignited a grass fire on the side of the highway – RFS crews took around 45 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
Investigations into the cause of the incident are continuing.
