Walcha Mayor Janelle Archdale today labelled Armidale Dumaresq Council as ‘predatory’ and ‘arrogant’ after it called for a four-way merge between Armidale, Guyra, Uralla and Walcha.
In its report last December IPART proposed Armidale Dumaresq merge with Guyra Council.
Now Armidale Council says that amalgamation should be extended to include the other three councils for the good of the region.
The council has called for a Boundaries Commission review into the matter.
