A man, who’s accused of threatening a woman with an axe in Taree will face court later this month.
Police were called to Stokes Circuit on Monday night, following reports a 34-year-old man had armed himself with an axe and smashed a window and door.
When officers arrived, the man allegedly ran from police, but was caught an hour later on Davis Street.
“The police did a great job in finding him and chasing him throughout town and arresting him.”
He’s been charged with malicious damage, resisting arrest, intimidation and offensive behaviour.
