Three men have been charged over a spate of armed robberies at Newcastle newsagents.
19-year-old Steven Johnston of Adamstown and 22-year-old Dane Hampton from Mayfield are alleged to have been involved in the robberies at Beresfield, Adamstown and Carrington and today were refused bail in Newcastle Local cCourt.
Meanwhile a 20-year-old Metford man handed himself into Maitland police this afternoon, and has been charged with six offences.
Police are still hunting a fourth man.
