The Transport Workers Union was out mustering support for bus drivers on the Gold Coast today, following a shocking year of assaults.
They’re asking the public to sign petitions, calling on the Minister for Transport to provide more protection.
“We’ve had over 30 assaults in the last 6 months on the Coast, it is only a matter of time before someone’s going to be killed and that’s not good enough.”
They claim the government has ignored calls for help from drivers.
An industry march is being planned for April.
