WEEKEND RAINFALL NOT ENOUGH FOR CHAFFEY DAM

Despite recent rainfall in the North West, it hasn’t been enough to significantly raise the water level of Chaffey Dam.
Over the weekend, the Bureau of Meteorology recorded 27 millimetres of rainfall in Tamworth and 31 in Nundle.
“We’ve had enough rain to raise Chaffey by about point six of a per cent and we still have a bit of an inflow there but realistically probably from this rainfall we’ve had so far we’ll probably get less than one per cent.”
Level two water restrictions remain in place, which means sprinklers are banned and hand held hoses can only be used for two hours per day.
