A shopping centre at Singleton had to be evacuated today, after a blaze broke out in the kitchen of the Town Square Cafe.
Thick smoke billowed from the building as fire crews from Singleton and Branxton battled the flames, with police and ambulance crews also on hand.
Initial reports indicate a grease fryer caught alight.
One person was treated for a minor case of smoke inhalation.
