Port Macquarie’s Darren O’Rafferty will go into this year’s Australian Surf Festival as the red-hot favourite in both long and short board categories.
Almost 400 surfers are expected to compete in the two week event, held at Port Macquarie beaches starting from Saturday.
Former Pipeline Masters winner Robbie Page will also be a major contender, after taking out the over 45 state longboard title at Bonny Hills in June.
Open Surfmasters, Single Fin and Logger titles will also be up for grabs.
