Wilfred Barrett Drive at Norah Head remains closed in both directions, after a serious crash on Sunday.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around midday, after reports of a high speed crash.
It’s understood a car left the road and hit a tree, with the female driver pulled from the wreck.
She’s been taken to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
