RFS LIKELY TO BEGIN BUSH FIRE DANGER PERIOD EARLY IN LIVERPOOL PLAINS

Like many areas in Tamworth and Armidale, the Rural Fire Service is likely to begin, its bush fire danger period ahead of schedule in the Liverpool Range.

Generally the danger period begins on October 1 and runs through until the end of March.

However, due to a lack of rain, the period is likely to commence on the first day of September.

It will mean residents throughout the Upper Hunter, Liverpool Plains and Gunnedah will need fire permits.
