TREE DAY CANCELLED IN TAMWORTH

Low water levels in Chaffey Dam has seen Tamworth’s National Tree Day cancelled for 2014.
With the drought continuing, the Dam is expected to drop to 35 per cent by the end of next month.
Level three water restrictions will be introduced in Tamworth in the next two weeks.
All outdoor hoses and sprinklers will be banned, with buckets to be used to water gardens and fill pools.
Despite the lack of rain, Tamworth Urban Landcare will still be planting on the banks of the Peel River using non-potable water.
