A stolen car has turned up in the most unlikely of places.
A Suzuki Vitara was found abandoned in the middle of Lake Cathie – a popular swimming and fishing location on Sunday.
It’s believed the four-wheel-drive – which was stolen from a nearby residence – became bogged in the lake after a joy ride around the area.
The vehicle will be removed by the police and council by the end of the week.
