A man has died after his car swerved off the M1 and crashed into a tree during peak hour traffic last night.
The 38-year-old Brisbane man was driving northbound when his car suddenly swerved through four lanes of traffic, somehow avoiding other drivers.
Two nurses stopped to help, but it was too late.
“Definitely at the time of day there was a great deal of traffic on the road travelling north, we believe there was more than two people that actually saw the accident.”
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
