Roads and Maritime Services has installed a steel guardrail on the Grafton bridge after a truck crash earlier in the week.
It caused large chunks of the bridge’s concrete side barrier to fall into a neighbouring backyard.
Locals are being assured the bridge is structurally sound.
Planning is underway for permanent repairs to take place in the coming weeks.
