Construction at the new Subaru complex in Port Macquarie came to a halt on Thursday morning, when a crane suddenly lurched sideways.
The crane had been set up to lift a container from nearby Gordon Street, when the ground underneath it gave way.
It fell towards a nearby car park, before crashing into a retaining wall.
Thankfully, no one was injured.
