NEAR DROWN AT GOLD COAST BROADWATER

A 70-year-old man is lucky to be alive after being pulled unconcious from the water at Labrador.

Boat users found him floating face down, just off the Dux Park swimming enclosure, at around 9am.

He was brought to shore, where a teacher performed CPR.

“He was clearly not breathing at that stage and I’ve done a lot of CPR courses over the last 20 years so I knew I had to clear his airway.”

He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital unconcious, but breathing.

  1. My son and I found this elderly gentleman floating unconcious in the water yesterday and brought him to the shore. We are very keen to find out how he is doing as it was such an upsetting event. Do you know if the gentleman is okay??
