A case which saw a man without qualifications successfully pose as a doctor at Wyong and Gosford Hospitals has prompted calls for an independent investigation to uncover the extent of his activity.
It’s believed Shyam Acharya assumed the identity of an Indian doctor before coming to Australia.
Today the Opposition says the state government owes it to the community to conduct an in-depth inquiry into the matter.
Police are preparing to lay charges against Acharya, however he has fled the country.
