A cyclist is fighting for his life after being hit by a car in Newcastle.
The 39-year-old is on life support after being struck by an oncoming Hyundai Excel while riding his bike along Lambton Road in Broadmeadow yesterday afternoon.
He was thrown from his bike into a power pole.
He suffered from severe head and internal injuries and is currently on life support in John Hunter Hospital.
The driver of the car, a 17-year-old boy from Wangi Wangi, was taken to hospital for drug and alcohol tests.
