With Operation Safe Arrival in action, Tamworth police are continuing to urge drivers to slow down.
They say people still aren’t getting the message, with 59 infringement notices in the Oxley area given out over the past seven days.

The Police officer interviewed said there were 59 speeding infringements issued over the last 7 days: that goes back to Friday last week. I’d be interested to hear how many of these are issued over a typical non-xmas week and was the speeding at dangerous levels in the circumstances or at just over the limit speeds. In other words, was the speeding particularly dangerous and is the xmas period really any different from any other time? And this message people aren’t getting: is it that speeding is dangerous or that it’s going to get you booked? These are two vastly different things.
