The Northern Inland Academy of Sport’s girls hockey squad were treated to a visit by a local star today.
National representative Kate Jenner returned home to Tamworth for the holidays.
And as a graduate of the NIAS program, Jenner gave the current squad her tips to reach the top.
“Learning as much as you can and trying to put in, put that into play as much as possible. But yeah, I think it’s just all about having fun.”
Today’s session is the second for the squad, following skill based training in Armidale two weeks ago.
The team are preparing for a match against the Hunter Academy in January.
“It’s hard to just, train and train and train without playing games. So we always try to focus on finishing with games, because that’s what they, the athletes, really enjoy.”
