WEATHER UPDATE: EXTREME SUMMER-LIKE HEAT IN OCTOBER

Today was extreme by any standards let along this early in the year.
Widespread temperatures in the mid 30s, humidity levels below 10% and wind gusts of 60 to 70 km/h. At Williamtown, north of Newcastle, the fire rating hit 100 today.
A slow moving southerly change will move through overnight pushing up the coast tomorrow. Ahead of the change conditions will be very hot for NE NSW and SE QLD. Behind the change some showers with cooler temperatures will envelop the region.
Over the weekend things willheat back up ahead of the next change coming through late Sunday.
Please cut the sensationalist hype. Today was NOT extreme and in most places not even close to predicted temps.
