Hundreds of people gathered last night to support body boarder Mat Lee who’s still recovering in Gold Coast University Hospital following a shark attack last month.
Local businesses, donating generously to the fundraiser, being overseen by his partner, Suzy.
“I reckon he’d be stoked he’s got the whole community behind him everyone’s rallied together” said friend Simon Doe.
Today, Mat posted a big thumbs up on facebook – and says 50-percent of the money raised will go to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter – the service that saved his life.
