It’s the season for giving, and hundreds of people in need will wake up to presents under the Christmas tree on Tuesday thanks to the generosity of the general public.
The Salvation Army on the north coast has been inundated with treasures of all shapes and sizes – already handing out more than 250 hampers so far.
“This year the demand is 20 per cent up on last year as is most agencies I think that’s been hard, but its been wonderful to just share a hug with some one who is just really grateful.”
With the gifts continuing to pour in – not all will make it under this year’s Christmas tree.
They will be held onto and handed out to people in need during the year.
