Lismore Council has a new Deputy Mayor.
Councillor Gianpiero Battista was last night elected to the position.
He beat fellow councillor Greg Bennett 9 votes to 2.
“Very excited, it’s been a long time coming, I’ve been on council for eight years so I’m really ready to go now.”
Isaac Smith, was also officially sworn in as the city’s new mayor.
