TWEED POLICE OFFICER TO FACE COURT OVER ALLEGED MISCONDUCT

A Tweed police sergeant will face Lismore local court in March accused of having sex with a prostitute using a gun, while at Kingscliff police station.

Sergeant Mark Garner faces three charges, one of police misconduct and two relating to the misuse of his police issued Glock pistol.

The Prosecution will allege in September 2011, Garner took the woman to the Kingscliff police station to interview her after the death of her father and had sex with her.

The 48 year old father of three will remain suspended from duty, on full pay until the matter is resolved.
