In this classic clip, we find out what Christmas is all about – from the kids.

Before Big Dog came along, the NBN station mascot was a bright orange cat called Buttons.

In this clip from 1977, Buttons and his sidekick Pauline go on a Christmas shopping adventure.

Another Christmas flashback from the vault now, and tonight, we revisit 1978, when NBN personalities pooled their talents for a festive special.

And after seeing some of these performances, we’re glad they didn’t give up their day jobs.
