Former Kempsey mayor, Betty Green has been elected as the new deputy mayor, after defeating the incumbent Anthony Patterson six votes to two.
Councillor Green won support from councillors Lou Kesby, Dean Saul, Ashley Williams, Anna Shields and Bruce Morris.
While Patterson received mayor Liz Campbell’s vote.
Green was mayor from 2007-2008 and has been a councillor for nine years.
