TAMWORTH FIGHTS TO RETAIN FLIGHT SCHOOL

An industry advisor to New South Wales Defence visited Tamworth today, as the town fights to have its flight training school remain in the area.
The current contract ends in 2015, and Tamworth wants to win the next 25 year contract.
Lieutenant General Ken Gillespie was given a guided tour of the premises, before meeting with members from Tamworth Regional Council and the Tamworth Business Chamber.
It’s estimated the flight training school has boosted the local economy by $700 million over the last 13 years.
