Construction and planting of Port Macquarie’s second community garden has begun, with a sod turning ceremony today.
In a few months time, the Central Road site will be home to a wide variety of plants, and a fruit and vegetable patch.
“It’s just fantastic that we’re finally at this point where we’ve got infrastructure starting to go in, we’ve got a community that’s engaged and interested, it’s really an exciting point to be at.”
Harvesting and gardening events will be held at the site, as well as educational tours and functions.
