Westdale Memorial Park is in line for an upgrade, with the state government pledging $5,000.
It follows more than two years of lobbying by members of the community.
“Well this is a wonderful example of the community taking ownership of our war memorials and memorial parks.”
The funds will be used to replace a broken flag pole, to create a memorial plaque and to install a boundary fence around the perimeter.
