Knights skipper Kurt Gidley will make his long-awaited return from injury against the Sharks tomorrow, as long as he pulls up okay from today’s training session.
There’s speculation Gidley will take Craig Gower’s spot on the bench.
“Being out for 12 weeks I think that’s the right move, right role, play little time, test out the foot and the rest of my body.”
Gidley says it’s a game Newcastle must win for two reasons – to stay in the eight, and to honour Danny Buderus in his 250th game.
“Wayne doesn’t talk about milestones in the lead up to too many games but this is one that we spoke about today, he’s a great club man, well loved in the community.”
