The high speed rail debate has been quashed by the Minister for Roads and Ports Duncan Gay.
Speaking at a Hunter Business Infrastructure lunch today, the minister said he didn’t see the need for high speed rail in the region.
Meanwhile an announcement on the winning tender for the Port of Newcastle will be made mid next year.
