Representatives from Lismore’s Japanese sister city had a front row seat at today’s official opening of the newly refurbished City Hall.
The Japanese guests from Yamato-Takda are in town celebrating the 50 year relationship.
Sister City is a bond between two cities usually based on friendship. Ours is the very first between Australia and Japan.”
Lismore City Council honoured the milestone by planting a Japanese Maple tree.
And the friendship will be extended tonight, with both mayors expected to sign a further sister city agreement.
