A mixed night for Newcastle in the Waratah Basketball League, with the women losing to Hornsby in overtime, while the men won a see sawing battle.
John Mujic got the ball rolling for the home side, getting himself on the scoreboard before setting up Cameron Springall.
The four point victory sees the men’s side improve its record to 11 wins and 11 losses.
Newcastle is now locked in a battle with three teams for a playoff spot and face two must win games against the Comets and the Sharks.
