Just four weeks after being admitted to a Spanish hospital with pneumonia and an abscess on his lung Hunter triathlete Aaron Royle has made an impressive return to the world series in Germany.
Royle emerged from the swim inside the lead group, then on the bike, kept pace with the Brownlee brothers from Great Britain.
All this just 10 days after resuming training.
“He’s not there yet, so we’ll probably see him fade a bit on the run.”
The reigning under 23 world champion did drop back in the final stages, but still finished inside the top 20.
