The NSW Government has made a tongue-in-cheek poke at Queensland putting up a billboard at Tugun talking up their state and trying to attract investment.
The sign advertises New South Wales as the “new state of businesses,” and talks up the turnaround in their economy.
“We’re determined to attract business investment to NSW and if that’s about reminding people in QLD and other states about the economic performance of NSW that’s a good thing not a bad thing.”
Queensland Premier Campbell Newman wasn’t too concerned though, saying it plays on the friendly competition between the two states.
