Police are now confident a 20 year old man, left for dead on the Gold Coast Highway at Main Beach in the early hours of Sunday morning, was the victim of a hit and run.
Sam Brown, who works for AFL Queensland, suffered life-threatening head injuries, consistent with being hit by a car.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
